Fans of open-wheel racing can take control of the world's most finely tuned vehicles and speed around real courses from the 2009 FIA Formula One World Championship in F1 2009. All of the real drivers and manufacturer's are present, so gamers can take control of Jenson Button's Mercedes, Sebastien Vettel's Renault, Kimi Räikkönen's Ferrari, or Lewis Hamilton's McLaren, and guide them around all 17 circuits, including the famous Monaco GP, the Singapore night race, and the all-new Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. Developer Sumo Digital has included a full damage model to simulate the effects of collisions, while 20-car races, pit stops, slick tires, aerodynamic regulations, and regenerative braking systems have also been included to increase realism. Players looking to get the full race experience can run through practice, qualifying, and race day in "Grand Prix Weekend" mode, while fans of multiplayer racing can team up or go head-to-head in split screen action, using the "Fair Race" balancing system to ensure that gamers of all skill levels remain competitive.
